Karatzis Group of Companies proudly announces its distinction in the Greek Awards for the Environment, earning the Award for Environmental Aware-ness.
The announcement of the results took place in the headquarters of the European Commission in Athens, by the Hellenic Business Association for Environmental Protection (PASEPPE), while the award ceremony is due for September 2016. This initiation of this institution runs under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, Ministry of Interiors and Administrative Reconstruction and the Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure, Shipping and Tourism.
Karatzis Group of Companies achieved an important distinction amongst Greek-based companies, organizations, public and private bodies.
Our Group’s environmental policy has been an important opponent of our operation since day one, and being rewarded for our beliefs is the reason behind our will to perform even better and raise further awareness.
Strict, environmentally responsible guiding lines run within our entire production line, while employee training programs regarding the use of natural resources and energy consumption, holistic waste recycling programs and participation in local recycling schemes are few of the Group’s standards of environmentally-friendly operation.
Moreover, Karatzis Group of Companies is actively involved in -both Greek and International – environmentally and biodiversity related initiatives. To state some, it cooperates with the Greek Nature Protection Society, the Blue Flag program of the Foundation for Environmental Education, the Green Key program, the Association for the Protection of the Sea Turtle ARCHE-LON, the Italian environmental team Legambiente and the Cretan Public Aquarium “Cretaquarium” which is a part of Thalassocosmos, the largest center for research, technology and entertainment in the Mediterranean Sea.
