The Karatzis Group was honored for its practical and longstanding contribution by the Association of Marathon Runners of Crete “Ikaros”.
The New Year’s cake was cut by the Association of Marathon Runners of Crete “Ikaros” on Sunday morning at a special event held aboard the Minoan Lines ship Knossos Palace.
The event honored the athletes of the Club who distinguished themselves in 2023. Specifically, the “Ikaros” Association honored its athletes who excelled in the Spartathlon of 246 kilometers, in the 21st Minoan Race of 70 kilometers, as well as athletes of the Club who distinguished themselves in the Athens Marathon.
At the same time, the event honored the Karatzi Group as a sponsor, for its significant, longstanding, and practical contribution to sports and to the Association of Marathon Runners of Crete. The award was received on behalf of the Karatzi Group by the Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Nikos Amonachakis.
Finally, the event featured a speech by the Aegean Graffiti researcher, Dr. Minas Tsikritzis, on the Origins of the Olympic Games Minoan Sports and Games, while the event was accompanied by the musical ensemble “ERAN” with traditional and art music as well as by the Cretan Artist Nikos Damianos.
